ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Filmmakers from across the globe are in Albany for the 2026 Christian Worldview Film Festival. The event began Monday, March 9, and continues through March 13. The Festival is hosted by Sherwood Baptist Church.

The festival provides opportunities for filmmakers to mingle with industry leaders and attend various lectures. Lectures range from editing tips to guidance for emerging directors.

Participants also got demonstrations of new equipment and production processes. The festival also allows Christian filmmakers to showcase their work and receive critiques for improvement.

Attendees say the event is more than an educational opportunity.

“It’s like a revival—it’s a call to repentance, a call to our roots. We come back here, get grounded and are reminded why we are doing this, and then we go back out,” said Joseph Graber, who said he has attended almost every festival.

Event coordinator Dan Cleghorn said he believes film is important for spreading Christ’s message saying, “It creates a legacy—content that goes far beyond what a person says. Film allows us to go farther than what we can individually.”

Registration information can be found here. The public is encouraged to attend a free film screening starting at 7 p.m. on March 11 at Sherwood Baptist Church.
