Description

LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A Lee County man has been sentenced to years in prison for sexual-related crimes.

On Dec. 10, 2024, Jason Allen Brown pleaded guilty in Lee County Superior Court to one count of aggravated sexual battery and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. He was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison and life on probation.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim Unit, Brown was initially arrested on Jan. 1, 2024, on charges of one count of aggravated sexual battery, five counts of sexual battery, and one count of failure to register as a sex offender. These charges stemmed from an investigation conducted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Office Special Victim Unit.

Brown, a registered sex offender, moved to Lee County in May 2017. He was previously convicted of sexual assault  on Jan. 13, 2015, in Fort Benning, GA, which mandated his registration as a sex offender.

He was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Jimmie H. Brown. Cania Brown-Gordon, with the Southwestern Judicial Circuit, prosecuted the case.
