Description
GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A newly trained K-9 with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office made its first successful deployment during a major drug bust Friday night, leading to two arrests and the seizure of methamphetamine, marijuana, pills, cash, and a large amount of stolen copper.
Deputies executed a search warrant shortly after nightfall, arresting Roger Chason and David Kennedy, both of whom are well known to local law enforcement.
The operation is connected to ongoing investigations into recent copper thefts throughout the county. Sheriff Prince said the evidence recovered strengthens those cases.
The new K-9, which had just graduated from training earlier that same day, helped locate narcotics and secure the scene during the bust.
The Sheriff’s Office encourages anyone with information about illegal drug activity or thefts to come forward. Sheriff Prince also urged those battling addiction to seek help.
“If you—or someone you know—is suffering from drug addiction, please reach out. We want to help you find a way out and get on the road to recovery,” he said.
The Grady County Sheriff’s Office remains committed to protecting, serving, and supporting the community.
