TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) – A Tifton mother says she’s living in fear after her home was shot into for the second time in just four months. This time, her daughter was struck by a bullet.
Natalie Stafford told WALB the shooting happened early Wednesday morning while her family was asleep inside their home on Ferry Lake Road. Her daughter, As’shunti Taylor, was lying on the couch with other children when gunfire erupted. A bullet grazed her chest before she was rushed to the hospital.

“I’m just thankful my daughter’s alive but we can’t keep living like this, not knowing if it’ll happen again,” Stafford said.
According to a Tifton Police report, officers heard several shots around Goff Street just after midnight and later received a Flock camera alert in the area. When officers arrived at the home, they found Taylor wounded but alert. Detectives were called to the scene, and a crime scene log was started.
Stafford says despite multiple calls, she hasn’t heard back from investigators. WALB is reaching out to the Tifton Police Department for an update on the investigation and to learn whether the shootings are connected to other recent drive-by incidents in the area.
WALB’s Taylor Lewis will have more on this developing story in our later newscasts.
