Description

Pavo, Ga. (WALB) - Residents and travelers in Brooks County traveling on State Route 122 now have two, new and safer bridges over the Brice Pond Tributary and the Okapilco Creek.

The bridges were originally constructed in the 1940′s, and now have reopened on Friday, June 21, four months ahead of schedule.

The total cost for the project was approximately 13.7 million dollars.

According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), the new bridges have 12-foot lanes with 6-foot shoulders.
