WAYCROSS, Ga. (WALB) - The remains of Sergeant Kennedy Landon Sanders will lie in state on Friday, Feb. 16, and then be laid to rest on Saturday, Feb. 17 in Waycross.

Sanders was one of the three soldiers from Georgia killed in a Jordan drone strike.

Sanders’ remains will lie in state at C.C. McCray City Auditorium on Feb. 16 from 1-8 p.m.

Anyone offering their condolences is asked to participate in the public viewing based on the first letter of their last name:

  • A-F will participate from 1-3 p.m.
  • G-L will participate from 3-5 p.m.
  • M-R will participate from 5-7 p.m.
  • S-Z will participate from 7-8 p.m.

The funeral service is scheduled for Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. at Ware County Middle School Auditorium. Following the service, there will be a regal recessional through the city.

Internment will be at Oakland Cemetery that same day.

The services will be broadcast live on Fluker Funeral Home’s Facebook page and WALB News Now.
