ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The National Weather Services has issued various of warnings and advisors that are in effect until later this evening.

Excessive heat warning is in effect until 8 p.m. this evening. Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 113 are expected.

Flood Warning

The flood warning has been extended for the Brooks, Echols and Lowndes counties, for the following rivers, Withlacoochee River above Valdosta (Skipper Bridge Rd) and Alapaha River at Statenville.

Heat Advisory

A heat advisory has been issued for several counties in South Georgia from now to 6 p.m. through 8 p.m.

The weather service says to expect, “Heat index values up to 110 degrees expected.”
