Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - More warmth with highs in the 80s on Monday. Despite increasing clouds dry conditions prevailed tonight through Tuesday. Tomorrow morning patchy fog followed by overcast and warm low-80s. Late Tuesday we’ll be tracking a squall line moving east with the latest timing entering SGA after midnight. SPC upgraded SGA to a Slight Risk for severe storms therefore, from 1am to 11am Wednesday it’s a FIRST Alert Weather Day.

All modes of severe weather are on the table including damaging winds, large hail and a few tornadoes. We urge you to have multiple ways to receive any watches or warning as the threats will arrive overnight. Make sure your NOAA Weather Radios are in alert mode and cell phones aren’t in do not disturb mode. Storms could develop with little to no warning at all therefore make sure all family members know the safety plan.

As a cold front passes Wednesday afternoon, some lingering showers but storms push out and brisk NW winds usher in drier and much cooler air.

Temperatures drop about 10-15° below average. With full sunshine afternoon turn pleasantly cool with highs mid-upper 60s while lows turn chilly low-mid 40s Thursday through Saturday.

More sunshine and seasonably warm mid 70s on Sunday then mostly sunny and warmer upper 70s on Monday.

The highly anticipated partial solar eclipse is on Monday April 8th. For now the latest forecast models are suggesting a mostly sunny sky across SGA. Changes are likely so check back for updates.
