Step up and meet your subject-Face to Face is a week-long camp for teens in grades 6-12 who are ready to explore the art of human expression through drawing, painting, and sculpture. Middle and high schoolers will create bold, compelling images and three-dimensional sculptures of people and faces, inspired by the works in our summer exhibition featuring Vitus Shell. Campers will experiment with a variety of materials-from clay and wire to pencil, ink, and paint-while studying proportions, gesture, and expression. Each project challenges students to push beyond realism, exploring style, abstraction, and personal voice, all while gaining hands-on experience with professional art techniques. By the end of the week, participants will have a portfolio of striking portraits and sculptures that capture the human face in all its complexity and creativity.
