PEARSON, Ga. (WALB) - The Pearson Police Department (PPD) announced an update on Thursday, Sept. 4 after a man fled from police.
Two people were taken into custody following a traffic stop conducted on a Ford Focus on Sunday, Aug. 31. They were identified as Traverious Brinson and Tomas Simpson, both from Douglas.
During the traffic stop, police found suspected marijuana and open containers inside the vehicle.
Brinson, who was driving the car, ran from the police on foot near Victory Street. Simpson, who was the passenger, was arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana Less than an Ounce.
An investigation found that Brinson made his way back to Douglas that same evening. Brinson agreed to turn himself in on Friday morning, according to Pearson Police.
His charges will be released once he is in custody, PPD said.
