COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Two women were shot after allegedly arriving at a residence with the intent to commit a robbery, according to a release from the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).

CCSO says that deputies were dispatched to Grove Mobile Home Park on Feb. 21, in reference to individuals suffering from gunshot wounds. Deputies say that they found Stephanie Ann Nicole Castillo, 35, and Elisabet Gaspar, 27, with apparent gunshot injuries.

According to police, during the preliminary investigation, officers determined that the shooting took place at a separate home near Tyler Road. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) assisted in the investigation.

Investigators discovered that the homeowner had been attacked by Castillo and Gaspar. After a physical altercation between the victim and the two women, the victim retrieved a shotgun and fired a single round.

Police say that both suspects were charged with

• Two counts of aggravated assault
• Two counts of armed robbery
• One count of home invasion in the first degree

Castillo and Gaspar were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, according to officials, shortly after both suspects were taken to the Coffee County Jail.
