ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — 21 kilograms of fentanyl and $380,000 in cash were seized from a Georgia home Friday, according to the FBI’s Atlanta field office.
A money counting machine, a vacuum sealer used to package bricks of illegal narcotics and a Glock 19 were also found in the Forest Park home.
Rico Deville Buice and David Estevean Montillo Diaz were both arrested and charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute fentanyl.
Fentanyl is a highly addictive substance that U.S. Attorney Theodore Hertzberg says is often added to fake prescription drugs.
“Just two milligrams of fentanyl is a lethal amount. 21 kilograms is enough fentanyl to kill millions of people and its street value is nearly half a million dollars,” Hertzberg said.,
“This significant operation showcases the strength of our collaborative efforts and our unwavering commitment to stopping dangerous criminals who threaten our communities,” a post on Facebook said.
