ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The Tift County Sheriff’s Office (TCSO) announced May 2 that four men were arrested for selling vapes to a person under the age of 21. Officials said they started investigating underage sales after several tips from the community.

The four men are Abuali Saeed, Al-Tawil Abdullah Gamal Ahmed, Vishwanath Chandresha and Singh Navjot. They were arrested at various smoke shops around Tift County.

The shops are:

• Tobacco & Vapor Depot (1909 US Highway 82 West)
• Tifton Tobacco & Vapor (1878 US Highway 82 West)
• 101 Smoke Shop (1605 US Highway 82 West)
• 501 South Central Avenue

According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC), vapes contain addictive and harmful ingredients that affect different parts of the body. The use of nicotine can potentially train people’s brains to be more vulnerable to other drug addictions.

Tift County Sheriff Gene Scarbrough said, “Our office will always do whatever we can to safeguard the youth of this community.”
