ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — An Albany man is facing an aggravated assault charge after police say a dispute between neighbors ended with one man being struck with a metal pipe.
According to the Albany Police Department, officers responded to the 100 block of Collins Street around 11:46 a.m. on Oct. 23 to investigate an aggravated assault.
Investigators say the incident involved an ongoing dispute between neighbors Michael Woodard, 51, and Robert Williams, 65.
Police say Woodard allegedly threw a bottle at Williams. Williams then left the scene, retrieved a metal pipe from his home and returned to Woodard’s yard, where he allegedly struck Woodard with the pipe.

Woodard suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. He was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Williams was taken into custody and transported to the Dougherty County Jail. He was charged with aggravated assault.
