ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Albany Police are investigating a reported stabbing involving two employees at the Cracker Barrel on North Westover Boulevard.

According to an incident report, officers responded to the restaurant at 1114 N Westover Blvd. on Sept. 18 after getting a report of a stabbing.

The report states officers found a puddle of blood near the restaurant’s rear exit, along with blood drops leading toward a dumpster in the parking lot. Police talked to the restaurant manager, who identified the injured employee. The manager told officers she saw the employee walking back toward the restaurant after taking out the trash, with a fellow employee nearby.

According to the report, the manager noticed blood on the left side of the 58-year-old employee’s body and three cuts: one on his upper back, another on his left shoulder, and a third on his left hand and wrist. The manager told police that employee said the former employee had threatened him earlier in the night and later stabbed him near the dumpsters after he took out the trash.

The employee was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for treatment. At the hospital, he told investigators an argument began after a plate accidentally fell onto the former employee. He said the former employee threatened him and told him to “watch himself.”

The employee told investigators the former employee cursed at him, pushed his head, and then hit him in the left shoulder, and that he backed away and later noticed he was bleeding from his shoulder, back, and hand.

According to police, the former employee left the area before officers got there and an attempt to contact him was unsuccessful. Police are looking for this man, who has been identified as Marshall Dowell, 32.

Anyone with information on Dowell’s whereabouts is asked to call APD at 229-431-2100, or call Crime Stoppers at 229-436-TIPS (8477).

No arrests have been made at this time.
