ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - An Albany teenager is in critical condition after a moped crash last week.
The 14-year-old was traveling on East Oakridge Drive when police say a car pulled out in front of her on April 27. The teenager was life-flighted to Arthur M. Blank Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the car is charged with failure to yield, with the potential for additional charges.
“Overall, all of us have to be mindful of others as we’re traveling because it’s not just us driving. We’re not just driving for ourselves, but we are driving for other people.”
Albany Police Chief Michael Persley said officers are still investigating the crash. Officers are working to learn if the teen was able to drive on the road, given Georgia’s Moped laws.
