Description
NASHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - The City of Nashville, GA Animal Shelter says multiple animals removed from a cruelty and abandonment situation last week are now receiving treatment and, in most cases, are available for adoption following arrests in the case.
In a May 21 release, shelter officials said Animal Control and the Nashville Police Department removed several animals from what they described as “filthy conditions,” with animals suffering from fleas, worms, dehydration, and illness.

Shelter officials said the case led to numerous criminal charges, with the investigation continuing.
At that time, the shelter reported it was caring for seven cats/kittens needing treatment and supportive care for upper respiratory infections and seven dogs/puppies described as flea-covered, worm-infested, dehydrated, under-socialized, and fearful.
The shelter asked the community for help, emphasizing a need for fosters—especially for the puppies—as well as donations, rescue assistance, and social media shares.
Update: arrests made; animals progressing
In an update released today, May 27, the shelter said the individuals involved—Wendy Buck and Roger Harris—were arrested and booked, with mugshots now public record.

The shelter said officers found:
- 8 dogs living in filth
- Numerous kittens in poor condition
- Animals covered in fleas and parasites
- Dehydration
- Unsanitary living conditions with waste throughout the property
Despite the conditions, shelter officials said the focus now is on recovery and rehoming. The shelter said all but one of the dogs are now available for adoption, and the kittens are currently in foster care being treated for upper respiratory infections.

Anyone interested in adopting is encouraged to reach out, as the shelter said three puppies are still looking for a “happy puppyhood,” along with adult dogs that need homes.
