NASHVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - A Berrien County employee has died following what officials describe as an accidental, on-duty incident.

Berrien County Coroner Robert Lovein Jr. confirmed that Jeffery Pernell McCorvey, 61, of Nashville, passed away Friday, Feb. 20.

According to the coroner, McCorvey “passed from his injuries, accidentally,” adding that the death was unfortunate. Officials say there is no investigation into the incident.

According to his obituary, McCorvey was a heavy equipment operator with the Berrien County Road Department.

WALB has reached out to the Berrien County Commissioner’s Office for additional details surrounding the circumstances of McCorvey’s death and is awaiting further information.
