Description
CAIRO, Ga. (WALB) - The Cairo Police Department, in partnership with the State of Georgia Department of Revenue Alcohol and Tobacco Division, conducted unannounced alcohol license compliance checks at local businesses on January 14, 2025.
According to authorities, City Marshal D. Thomas and a special agent with the DOR carried out the checks to ensure businesses were following both state and city alcohol regulations.
Officials say all businesses inspected were found to be fully compliant.
No violations were reported, and investigators confirmed that no alcohol sales were made to underage individuals during the operation.
Law enforcement officials say these compliance checks play a critical role in protecting the public by preventing underage access to alcohol and ensuring fairness for businesses that follow the law.
The Cairo Police Department expressed appreciation for local business owners, thanking them for their commitment to operating responsibly and supporting the safety of the community.
