GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A routine traffic stop by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) led to the arrest of a Camilla man on multiple drug-related charges.
According to the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO), on GA Highway 93 North near Macedonia Road, GSP troopers stopped a vehicle driven by Alan Irvin Marcus of Camilla for speeding. During the stop, troopers observed signs that Marcus may have been in possession of illegal substances and requested assistance from the Grady County Sheriff’s Office.
A Grady County Drug Investigator responded to the scene, and after a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a quantity of ecstasy. Marcus also performed poorly on field sobriety tests administered by law enforcement at the scene.
Marcus was taken into custody and charged with the following:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance (Ecstasy)
- Possession of Marijuana
- Speeding
- Distracted Driving
- Driving Under the Influence of drugs
