SUMTER COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Sumter County Middle School (SCMS) has released a Facebook post that the Celebration of Life Service for Ms. LaShaunda Thomas will be held at Sumter Co. High School.

“Both Sumter County High School and Sumter County Middle School will operate on an Early Release Schedule on Wednesday, May 13, 2026.”

According to SCMS, because high school students will be dismissed early, transportation services for Sumter County Middle School will also be affected, requiring an early dismissal schedule for middle school students.

Students will be released at the following times:

Car Riders - 12:30 P.M.

Bus Riders - 12:30 P.M.
