Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Following morning showers, Wednesday brought peaks of afternoon sunshine and warmth as highs topped low-upper 80s. Expect a few showers through the evening otherwise clouds hold overnight as lows drop into the upper 60s.

This unsettled weather pattern continues with a stalled front and area of low pressure across the region. Expect more widespread rain with isolated strong-severe storms possible Thursday and Friday. A few storms could produce damaging wind gusts and hail along with periods of heavy rain.

It only gets wetter as the low moves towards SGA into Mother’s Day weekend. If you have outdoor plans make sure you’ve got a backup indoors. Not as warm with highs mid 70s. Hefty rainfall amounts of 3-5 inches and possibly higher through Monday therefore flash flooding is possible.

Gradually drying out Tuesday for a dry and warmer rest of the week. Highs rise into the upper 80s around 90° as high pressure returns.
