Description

COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - Bo Sprunger, 59, a former Colquitt County firefighter, has lost his battle with brain cancer, according to a Facebook post by his family.

On Sunday, Nov. 23, his family posted that he “went to be with the Lord early this morning.”

“Words will never be enough to express the gratitude we feel for this community and for Colquitt Regional—your love, support, and faithfulness have carried them through more than you will ever know. Thank you for every prayer, call, visit, and message."

A Facebook group called “Battle with Bo” was created to keep family, friends and the community updated during his fight with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

According to a Facebook post on Oct. 13, Sprunger served as a career firefighter and volunteer firefighter in Colquitt County for many years.

He also spent many years at Cranford Jewelers where he repaired jewelry.

“Whether fighting fires or fixing cherished keepsakes, Bo has always been someone people could count on — and now it’s our turn to be there for him," the post said.

The Venmo for Sprunger’s wife, Diane, was posted in the Facebook group to help with the costs that come with medical care, travel and time away from work. Her Venmo is @Dianne-Sprunger.

Additionally, the Moultrie First Responders Association said they were raising finds to assist Sprunger’s family with funeral costs and other unexpected expenses.

The association encourages anyone who would like to donate to call one of board members listed below:
