COFFEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – A Coffee County man is behind bars after deputies say a domestic dispute escalated with the involvement of a firearm.

On August 24, deputies responded to a residence where 34-year-old Pedro Guzman Hernandez was reportedly involved in a verbal altercation while under the influence of alcohol. Witnesses told investigators that Hernandez retrieved a firearm during the dispute.

Deputies located and seized a ROMARM AK-47 style rifle at the scene. The weapon was collected as evidence.

Hernandez was arrested and charged with reckless conduct. He was transported to the Coffee County Pre-Trial Detention Center for processing.

The investigation remains ongoing.
