DOUGHERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) – Dougherty County has released its updated landfill tipping fees, which officially went into effect Monday, Dec. 2, 2025.
The revised rates outline new costs for various materials, including household garbage, construction debris, liquids, asbestos and multiple categories of tires.
According to county officials, the updated fee schedule is designed to keep operations efficient while ensuring the landfill can continue safely processing waste for residents and businesses.
Under the new structure, residents with proper identification can dispose of up to 500 pounds of waste once per day at no charge. However, this exemption does not apply to tires or farm animals. Any waste above 500 pounds will be charged based on prorated fees listed in the county’s updated chart.

Some of the notable fees include:
- Inert/Yard Waste & Construction/Demo: $40.97 per ton
- Liquids: $73.72 per ton
- Household Garbage: $40.97 per ton
- Asbestos: $45.26 per ton
- Tires 1–10: $5.00 per tire
- Farm Tractor Tires: $55.00 per tire
- Tires per Ton: $275.00 per ton
County officials also emphasized that all tires must be off the rim before disposal. The landfill does not accept tires from businesses, regardless of size, and all rental property waste will be charged the standard rate of $40.97 per ton.
Dougherty County noted it reserves the right to refuse any load that does not meet disposal guidelines.
Residents seeking additional details can reference the full fee schedule or contact the county’s public works division for clarification.
