ALBANY, Ga (WALB) - Dougherty sophomore quarterback Micah Joyner has been named the WALB Player of the Week after leading the Trojans to a 2-0 start to the 2026 season.

Joyner threw five touchdown passes in a blowout win over Spencer on Friday night, completing 75% of his passes.

Joyner connected multiple times with fellow sophomore Alonzo Hammond during the 42-point performance.

Through two games, Joyner has passed for 333 yards with eight touchdowns and one interception.
