Description
GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Deputies with the Grady County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) made an attempt to stop a vehicle traveling at 70mph in a 35mph zone on Saturday, Dec. 27.
The driver was identified as 40-year-old Braxton Collins of Cairo.
According to the sheriff’s office, Collins did not stop, leading officers on a pursuit. Shortly after, deputies stopped the car by performing a pit maneuver, GCSO said. Collins then fled on foot but was quickly apprehended, according to the sheriff’s office.
Officials have charged Collins with the following:
- Felony fleeing and eluding
- DUI
- Driving while license suspended
- Failure to stop at stop sign
- Aggressive driving
- Speeding

“Let me be clear if you choose to flee law enforcement in Grady County, you will be caught, Running only adds charges, danger, and consequences,” Sheriff Earl Prince said.
