Description
ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Today will remain hot and humid, with temperatures climbing toward the mid-to-upper 80s. Heat index values will soar into the mid-90s, but some relief may come in the form of more showers and storms. Most rainfall will occur during the afternoon and evening, with low chances for severe weather. Isolated flash flooding cannot be ruled out.
Showers and storms will steadily come to an end overnight, but a few spotty showers cannot be ruled out to kick off Sunday morning. Lows will be warm and muggy in the 70s.
Southerly flow from the Gulf will keep showers and storms possible through Father’s Day as temperatures soar into the 90s. As high pressure takes over, rain chances should lessen throughout the next work week until the end of the week. Temperatures, on the other hand, will begin to rise, and the humidity will easily allow for triple-digit heat index values.
