ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) —The Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany is hosting a free Independence Day celebration open to the public on Friday.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Live entertainment, including live music and flame throwers, is scheduled to begin shortly after.

Multiple vendors and food trucks will be present at the event.

What to bring — and what to leave home

Guests 18 and older must present a REAL ID or passport to enter the base. Guests ages 16 and 17 must also present a valid ID.

Outside food, drinks, coolers, pets and personal fireworks are not allowed. Organizers are asking guests to bring clear bags only.

Getting to the event

Guests with base access may enter through the Johnson Road gate. All other guests should enter through the main gate.

The event is expected to conclude with a fireworks show over Cavella Pond.
