(Gray News) - Frozen pasta sold at Walmart under the Bettergoods brand name is being recalled because it may be contaminated with listeria.

Two lots of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine have been recalled, according to the Food and Drug Administration. The frozen pasta was sold at Walmart stores nationwide in 22-ounce, yellow plastic packages with UPC number 194346442706.

The packages are stamped on back with lot number L6079C or L6080C and an expiration date of Sept. 19, 2027, or Sept. 20, 2027.

The FDA says a routine sampling program conducted by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services revealed the recalled pasta may be contaminated with listeria bacteria. An investigation into what caused the problem is ongoing.

No illnesses have been reported yet.

Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, older adults and those with weakened immune systems. It can also lead to serious pregnancy complications. Symptoms include high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea.
