COLQUITT COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A Colquitt County man has been charged and arrested following a rape case.

On Nov. 16, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) was asked to assist the Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) in a rape investigation that took place in Colquitt County on Nov. 16.

According to officials, it was determined that the victim was known to the alleged offender. Agents served a search warrant at the address where the crime took place. Police arrested Hayden Lee Gandy, 33, on Nov. 17 around 2:30 a.m. Gandy was arrested at a Riggs Store Road address in Hartsfield, Georgia.

Officials charged Gandy with:

• One count of rape
• One count of aggerated sodomy

Evidence was collected during the investigation and will be processed for any evidentiary value.

Gandy was transported to the Colquitt County Jail.
