GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WCTV) - A man is behind bars and accused of shooting at a Grady County man before he was reported missing in late June, according to a news release from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
Blaine Oliver was last seen on June 24 walking near Lewis Road in Grady County, according to a social media post from the GBI. The state agency said it joined the search for the man on July 3, and most recently conducted a search of about 400 acres of land along Highway 93.
More news out of South Georgia:
Payton Marshburn, 30, was arrested on Thursday after a traffic stop in Thomas County. He was taken into custody on “two outstanding felony warrants for aggravated assault,” related to a June 23 incident where he “allegedly fired a weapon at Blaine Oliver,” according to GBI agent Zach Johnson.
Johnson said Marshburn “has not been charged with any crimes related to Oliver’s disappearance,” amid the ongoing search and investigation.
Law enforcement encouraged those who may have been in contact with Oliver on June 23 to contact the GBI.
