GEORGIA (WALB) -The State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless Commission at the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), on Tuesday, March 10, launched Georgia Rehoused, a new, streamlined process for communities to apply for funding aimed at reducing unsheltered homelessness.
The program will use a single pre-application to determine eligibility for multiple available state and federal funding opportunities. DCA plans to distribute funding through three award cycles.
“The Georgia Rehoused Grant is a new way to bring innovative and stable housing opportunities to Georgia. We are seeing creative housing solutions introduced across the country, and we know Georgia communities and local partners are ready to provide similar opportunities.”
Streamlined Pre-Application Process
The pre-application will allow DCA to:
- Support communities in meeting basic eligibility requirements
- Advise on readiness to submit a final application
- Gauge community need and set timing and award limits for finite funding
