Description
MOULTRIE, Ga. (WALB) - The Georgia Peanut Commission (GPC) is gearing up for its annual presence at the Sunbelt Ag Expo (October 14–16, 2025), combining its trademark hospitality with agriculture advocacy and education to connect producers, consumers, and industry stakeholders.
Tradition Meets Innovation
For decades, the Georgia Peanut Commission has been one of the most recognizable and beloved exhibitors at Sunbelt. Their grilled peanut butter & jelly sandwich station is practically legendary, drawing long lines of expo visitors eager for a taste of the South. Alongside that, the Commission offers peanut tastings, recipe sampling, and interactive displays around peanut nutrition and production.
In 2025, GPC also continues its tradition of scheduling time on the Expo calendar, allowing attendees to stop by and engage with peanut-industry programming.
At the Heart of Georgia’s Spotlight Year
With Georgia serving as the “Spotlight State” at Sunbelt 2025, the Commission’s presence takes on even greater visibility. The Expo’s program indicates the GPC will have a site on the grounds, alongside the Georgia Cotton Commission and other commodity groups, to engage attendees directly. Through food, conversation, and outreach, GPC aims to reinforce the critical role of peanuts in Georgia’s agriculture and economy.
Goals & Highlights to Watch For
- Consumer engagement & branding — The Commission will use its popular food offerings and displays to strengthen its consumer outreach and brand recognition.
- Grower outreach & industry updates — In addition to public-facing efforts, GPC leverages the expo as a touchpoint for peanut growers to get updates on research, policy, and market developments.
- Educational programming — Interactive displays and informational materials will showcase the journey from farm to table, peanut nutrition, and innovations in peanut production.
- Cross-industry networking — With many exhibitors and commodity groups present, GPC’s site becomes a bridge between the peanut industry and related sectors in agriculture.
Why It Matters
As Georgia continues to lead the U.S. in peanut production, already a multibillion-dollar industry in the state, the Commission’s visibility and outreach are critical to sustaining market value, consumer awareness, and producer support. The Expo provides them with a high-traffic, high-impact platform to tell that story.
Sunbelt attendees can expect not only flavor and fun from Georgia Peanuts, but meaningful dialogue about research, policy, and the future of this iconic Georgia crop. Be sure to stop by their booth for a sandwich, a chat, and a deeper look at what’s happening in peanut country.
