ATLANTA, Ga. (WALB) - Betting on sports may come naturally for fans, but when it comes to love, many Georgians say relationships matter more than rivalries.
According to a new report from Hard Rock Bet, Georgia sports fans are willing to separate their passion for the game from their personal relationships. The survey found that 69% of Georgians say they would date someone who supports a rival team, noting that opposing fandom is not a deal breaker.
The report also shows that sports don’t dominate the dating scene. Eighty-six percent of respondents said their first date would not involve watching a game together, suggesting that personal connection comes before team loyalty.
When it comes to major moments, most fans say love still wins. Eighty-two percent of those surveyed said they would never ruin the holidays, even if it meant missing out on winning the Super Bowl.
The findings suggest that while sports remain a big part of Georgia culture, relationships and shared experiences matter even more off the field.
