ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - Volunteers from Georgia’s Own Credit Union lent a hand to Habitat for Humanity on Saturday, Oct. 18.

A release said volunteers helped build homes for Habitat for Humanity.

In Albany, volunteers led the painting for two neighboring Flint River Habitat for Humanity homes, getting them closer to completion for the new homeowners, the release said.

Additionally, Georgia’s Own donated $3,000 to Flint River Habitat for Humanity to support its mission.

"At Georgia’s Own Credit Union, we have always been passionate about serving and helping children and families in our community. And partnering with Habitat for Humanity to offer and create homes and homeownership opportunities to make a lasting impact and impression here and across the state of Georgia is something that we will all feel good about."

One-hundred volunteers served Habitat for Humanity affiliates in Atlanta, Augusta and Camden County.

In Atlanta, volunteers constructed two new homes. In Augusta, volunteers helped raise money through a Habitat ReStore. In Camden County, volunteers did yard work and staffed a block party to welcome a new Habitat homeowner.

In total, Georgia’s Own committed $35,000 to this effort, the release said.
