HAHIRA, Ga. (WALB) - The City of Hahira is welcoming new leadership following the recent municipal election, with a new mayor and two city council members officially elected.
Former Hahira Police Chief Terry Davis has been elected as the city’s new mayor.
In addition to the mayoral race, voters selected two city council members. Louise White will serve a second term as councilperson for District One. White was elected to a four-year term and will continue representing her district on the city council.
Cindy Becton was elected as the new councilperson for District Four. Becton will also serve a four-year term and is new to the council.
In a statement, the City of Hahira expressed appreciation for the newly elected officials and optimism for the future.
“We are thrilled to welcome these newly elected officials to the City of Hahira,” the statement read. “We are grateful for their commitment to our community and look forward to four years of strong leadership, collaboration, and progress as we continue moving higher forward.”
