ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Georgia is once again at the root of the 2026 politics season.

Not only will Peach State voters decide the next leader of the state, they will also choose who will be representing them in the U.S. Senate for the next six years.

Democrat Jon Ossoff, who was elected in 2020, is looking for Georgians to send him back to the Senate. Currently, no other Democrat has officially declared their intention to run against him.

On the Republican side, currently, two contenders for one of Georgia’s two U.S. Senate seats have made it official to try and unseat Ossoff. Several others have shown interest in the race.

The election is in November 2026.
