Description

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) — The Harris Home historical landmark on Whitney Avenue now has a new piece of history on its front lawn.

A historical marker was unveiled in front of the house Friday, Sept. 11.

Last year, the county approved making the home a landmark.

Built in 1931, the home was a safe space during the Albany Movement and the civil rights era.
