MYSTIC, Ga. (WALB) - A man was found deceased early Friday morning in Mystic, according to the Irwin County Deputy Coroner.
Deputy Coroner Tim Chaney told WALB the man had been attending a bonfire with friends in a yard overnight. Chaney said one of the friends went inside around 3 a.m., leaving the man by the fire.
The friend later returned early in the morning and discovered the man unresponsive. Emergency officials were notified, and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim’s name has not been released at this time.
Chaney said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been contacted regarding the incident, but officials say the GBI is not actively investigating at this time.
