ATLANTA, Ga. - The family of an Israeli hostage is calling for his safe return with the help of Gov. Brian Kemp.
Evyatar David, 24, was taken hostage by Hamas on Oct. 7, 2023, while attending the Nova Music Festival.
He was later identified on video as one of multiple hostages, bound and pleading for help.
Evyatar’s brother, Ilay, alongside family and friends, has been raising alarms about hostage conditions and advocating for his safe return home.
Kemp met with the David family on Thursday ahead of remarks at the State Capitol, where he called for the release of Evyatar and the other Israeli hostages currently in captivity in Gaza.
“We will continue to stand with the Jewish people and the state of Israel now and for as long as it takes to end this war and ensure the safety of all Israelis,” the governor said.
Kemp’s remarks come as Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, meets with President Trump, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and members of Congress to discuss the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.
Trump has been pressing for a ceasefire in the 21-month-long war.
