ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — More than two weeks after a Dallas professor vanished during a hike in the north Georgia mountains, his law firm is seeking experts to help find him.
Charles Hosch, 67, set out on the Byron Herbert Reece Trail, a 4-mile out-and-back hike up Blood Mountain, on Nov. 11. He hasn’t been seen since.

Hosch is a beloved adjunct professor at Southern Methodist University’s Dedman School of Law in Dallas, Texas.
Formal search efforts were suspended on Monday, according to his law firm, Hosch & Morris, PLLC. But that doesn’t mean the look is over.
“We have been encouraged by volunteer search and rescue organizations reaching out to offer support, and we need more help,” the law firm said on its newly created website, www.bringcharleshome.com.
Now, the firm is asking anyone who specializes in search and rescue, drones, K-9 teams or any other helpful field to email [email protected].
"Your knowledge and resources are invaluable to our efforts," the firm said. “Our resolve remains unshaken."
Originally from Gainesville, Georgia, Hosch was seeking out nostalgic views on the hike, his daughter Julia Hosch-Singh said. He spoke to a ham radio operator at the top of the mountain and was last seen descending the slope wearing khaki pants, a camel-color sweater and a dark green jacket.
So far, search efforts have included more than 95 personnel, multiple K-9 teams, helicopters and a drone team. Dogs picked up his scent last week, narrowing the search area, but he has still not been found.
“My dad has an Eagle Scout training from this mountain, so if anybody could figure out a way to use survival techniques, and shelters and places that he knew and that really creative, thoughtful mind, to hang in there on this mountain if something had happened, it would be my dad,” Hosch-Singh said.
This is a developing story. Check back with Atlanta News First as we learn more.
