LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) — Two people have been arrested and charged after a high-speed chase in Lee County.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), on June 14, a deputy pulled over a black Nissan Altima for an improper turn onto US 19 South from Kinchafoonee Creek Road.

The passenger in the vehicle was identified as Deandre Lawrence. Lawrence had an active warrant for probation violation. The driver was identified as Cameron Paulk.

During the stop, Paulk refused to unlock the vehicle and took off. The vehicle went northbound on US 19 South, turned onto Forrester Parkway, and reached a speed of approximately 103 MPH.

The deputy executed a successful PIT maneuver in the 300 block of Forrester Parkway. Lawrence then tried to run away, but was caught by deputies.

Lawrence is charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.

Paul is charged with Felony Fleeing or Attempting to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer, Theft by Receiving Stolen Property, and Improper Left Turn.

Deputies searched the vehicle and found:

• A loaded Jimenez Arms 9mm handgun
• A loaded Smith & Wesson M&P 9mm handgun, reported stolen from Albany, GA
• Multiple loaded magazines
• Loose 9mm ammunition
• .38 Special ammunition
• A handgun holster
