LEE COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is investigating a stabbing on Thursday afternoon.

LCSO announced an increased law enforcement presence in the 100 block of Stocks’ Dairy Road at around 1:34 p.m.

The 911 center received a report of a stabbing with the suspect reportedly leaving the scene on foot, according to LCSO.

Detectives swiftly went to the location and successfully took the suspect into custody shortly after.

The victim of the incident was transported to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries. LCSO said the victim’s injuries are non-life-threatening.

An investigation is underway. There is currently no active threat to the community, LCSO said.
