LEESBURG, Ga. (WALB) — Two Lee County High School soccer seniors signed Wednesday to play college soccer at Thomas University.

Camren Rios and Bryant Thomas will head to Thomasville to continue their soccer careers together.

“I don’t know. I felt like it’s a second family pretty much. Everyone here fights for each other. If you’ve been to our games, it’s, I’m going to miss it. That’s all I’m going to say. I’m going to miss it,” Rios said.

Thomas said his teammates have been with him for four years.

“Yeah, these guys have been with me for the past four years. They’ve seen me grow as a player, as a young man as well. So it’s going to be hard, but I’ll be back, of course, to support them,” Thomas said.

Both players said staying in South Georgia was part of the appeal.

“I’ve just been seeing this school for a while. It’s close to Lee County, and I love the coach, and the players there are amazing. I practiced there a few times, and I just love it there,” Rios said.

Thomas said the community at Thomas University made him and Rios feel welcome.

“I like to just spend the community that they have there. It’s not the biggest campus, but, you know, they make me and Cameron feel like we’re part of the team already, even though we haven’t really, you know what I’m saying, trained for that long with them,” Thomas said.
