AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) - The funeral for Martinez native and CBS Sports production assistant Bryce Adair was held Friday morning.

According to Platt’s Funeral Home, the visitation was from 10 a.m. to noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1223 Laney Walker Blvd., Augusta, Georgia 30901, and the funeral followed.

The funeral home was filled for Adair. There were speeches, songs and stories told about him.

Sports commentator Jim Nantz delivered an emotional tribute in his memory.

“Bryce would greet you with passion, spirit,” Nantz said.

“Just want to say to his mother, never be forgotten,” Nantz said.

“I have a much greater understanding of Bryce,” Nantz said. “He was loved by everyone and was easy to love because he had this gift of always making you feel special,” Nance added.

The Valdosta State University alumnus moved from Augusta in 2017.

He earned an Emmy for his work on a Super Bowl broadcast and was training to be a Steadicam operator.

Valdosta State University said it is saddened to learn of the passing of alumnus Bryce Adair, a 2017 mass media graduate and Sports Emmy Award winner. The university said Bryce was very involved as a student, and many faculty and staff members remember him fondly.

College of the Arts Dean Nicole Cox said, “His talent was evident, his smile was infectious, and his kindness resonated with everyone.”
