Description
LOWNDES COUNTY, Ga. (WALB) - A years-long investigation involving the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI has led to the indictment of a man accused of leading a local faction of a nationally recognized criminal street gang.
According to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office, Richard Devonne Faulk, also known as “Mr. Tailormade,” was indicted by a Lowndes County grand jury on October 28, 2026.
Investigators say Faulk was allegedly involved in organized criminal street gang activity in Lowndes County and was identified as a leader of a local faction of Sex Money Murder (SMM).
The investigation was led by the sheriff’s office Special Operations Division and members of the FBI Safe Streets Gang Task Force. Authorities say investigators spent years examining Faulk’s alleged involvement in criminal activity, including violent offenses and firearm-related incidents throughout the county.
Faulk faces four felony charges, including:
- Three counts of violating Georgia’s Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act.
- One count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
He also faces recidivist sentencing allegations based on previous felony convictions.
If convicted, Faulk could face up to 70 years in prison, depending on applicable sentencing laws and the court’s determination.
The sheriff’s office credited the Georgia Attorney General’s Office and Assistant District Attorney Zack Register of the Southern Judicial Circuit for their assistance during the indictment process.
Authorities also recognized the Valdosta Police Department, saying evidence from previous criminal investigations helped support the broader gang investigation.
The sheriff’s office says the indictment is part of its continued efforts to address organized gang activity and improve public safety across Lowndes County.
