VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - Lowndes County Emergency Management is asking residents to weigh in as the county updates its hazard mitigation plan.
The plan serves as a long-term roadmap to reduce the impact of natural disasters on homes, businesses, roads, and emergency services across Lowndes County.
Officials said public input is critical to identifying local risks and determining which projects to prioritize.
The county is asking residents to fill out a short online survey covering hazards including flooding, hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires and drought.
Responses will help shape future safety projects and keep the county eligible for state and federal mitigation grant funding.
