ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A man who was arrested last year for reportedly stabbing a tourist with a hypodermic needle has been arrested again.
According to arrest records, Asheville police arrested Julien Bryan McArthur, 30, on Aug. 31. He was charged for a probation violation and is being held without bond.

Asheville police had arrested McArthur on May 31, 2024, at the 30 block of Biltmore Avenue for a reported stabbing incident. According to the victim, McArthur approached him and his family while they were walking and asked for money. The victim, who was visiting from South Carolina, said he refused and continued walking.
Minutes later, the victim said he was helping his family get into their car and felt "a prick or a sting in his back." The victim said he turned around and saw the same man that had been asking him for money.
The victim went to Mission Hospital and staff there confirmed that the victim had been stabbed with a hypodermic needle. The victim was released after being put on antibiotics, according to authorities.
