VALDOSTA, Ga. (WALB) - A man who shot into a house while people were inside has been arrested, according to Valdosta Police (VPD).

The incident happened on Sept. 30, in the 2000 block of LaSalle Drive in Valodsta.

At around 10 p.m., a caller reported to 911 that someone had fired shots into his house. When officers arrived, they found that three adults were inside the house and no one had been injured.

A 47-year-old man who was inside the home at the time told police that he was in a verbal altercation with Carl Leon Miller, 53. He reportedly told Miller that he needed to leave the house. After he left, he returned and fired shots into the house.

Police say several other officers went to the scene. After a search, Miller was found walking on Tyndall Drive and was detained by officers. He was in possession of a firearm, according to Valdosta Police.

Miller was placed under arrest and taken to the Lowndes County Jail. He is being charged with:

  • 3 counts of aggravated assault - felony
  • Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony - felony
  • Criminal trespass-damage to property - misdemeanor
